PATHFINDERS SAYS IT'S OK TO FAIL

Safety and being able to fail are key aspects related to innovation and the ability to change. How are you ensuring this in your organisations?

“Two roads diverged in wood, and I, I took the road less travelled by, and that made all the difference.”

Robert Frost

Sometimes, when the paths ahead appear closed or diverge, we are left with a choice.

Take the route trod by many, or carve another.

I have long understood the importance of being able to fail safely in corporate culture, so in one of the organisations I have worked for, I set up a “Pathfinders Programme”, which allowed the organisation’s staff to innovate, break new ground and do this in the safety of an acceptance and willingness to fail.

How culture safe is your organisation?
