Ticking the box, it’s a choice

Writer's picture: PerrinPerrin

Governance has become codified.

This makes sense of course, because it helps organisations to understand what’s required of them.

But it’s also problematic, as it means that we drift towards ‘ticking the box’.

Ticking the box means that we’re meeting the minimum requirement.

Nothing wrong with this, except that it removes the possibility for growth.

When we decide to do more than just the minimum requirement, we sign up to make things better.

Making things better means that we have the chance to make a difference.

It‘s a choice, of course.

The question is, what’s your choice?

Tick the box, or

Make things better?
